• Is willing to give anything a try. That being said he has many regrets including: rest stop burritos, real housewives, and anything that starts with the letter T and ends with -quila.
• Despite being a huge ass flirt -- is actually quite the gentleman (or was). Liked the monogamous sort of lifestyle for a bit.
• Dreadfully obsessed with reality television. He could watch it all day. He does have days where he does watch it all day.
• After Lucius released him, he sort of didn't know how to handle 'the world'. Still doesn't. He might be a hermit in some aspects.
• Cannot control himself around blood -- loses himself in it and then tries to hide for weeks without it. Repeating the same very vicious and horrible cycle he just attempted to hide from.
• He went to his sister for help after being turned but has immediately made it to her shit-list.
• Even before he was turned into a vampire, he couldn't be in sunlight for too long -- he has scars down his back from when his demonically possessed little sister tried to burn him alive.
• "Acquired" a house from one of the recent plague victims that passed on. He also acquired her dog he's so lovingly dubbed 'Pudding'.
running, running, running from my problems
The Sorensons were never a prolific family; there was no remarkable claim to fame they had nor was there anything following their claims that they had saved countless lives, hunted whatever lurked in the darkness for years.
Molly and Deacon Sorenson never had some 'meet-cute' or time to even acquaint themselves with each other. Their families had done the dating for them, their parents had chosen them for each other. Stemming from long established hunting families with amazingly good track records. It was only necessary when one had a daughter and one had a son that they form together for the greater good. Nothing in particular had changed for them after their wedding, traveling down the road and staying together. Most of the time family gatherings were few and far between but everyone had been so excited that the young couple were together and very much in love with one another.
Years of being together only met the inevitable and soon, Noah had been born. The only unforeseen issue there was; was that neither Molly nor Deacon wanted their son or any other children to live the life they had. Destined to die alone and terrified. It was mutually decided that they would leave the life -- abandoning their families and the duty they had grown up with.
Noah grew up a relatively normal life in Glasgow, Ireland. His sisters joined him relatively later in life, giving him time to flourish as an individual. Any awareness that there was more to his parents that met the eye was just a kid's wild imagination. Molly had become a school teacher while Deacon had joined the police, both of them entirely focused on keeping their children out of the darkness. Eventually, introducing Noah to their extended families became unavoidable. Noah would ask, beg to know if he had uncles, aunts, cousins, or even be able to see his grandparents. As he had grown up believing that not knowing anyone in the family was perfectly normal. The first time he met his grandparents was brief, in a park, where Molly and Deacon could listen to the entire conversation.
Meeting other family members was, more or less, the same sort of meeting and eventually the magic of knowing his family was extinguished by his parents' paranoid glances. But they made up for it by having Emily and, soon after that, his sister Jennifer. Though the bond between the sisters were stronger than anything, Noah had it hammered into his head that as the older brother he was met to protect them from anything and he kept that close to his heart, becoming a third parent to Emily and Jennifer. Life had a normalcy to it -- a rhythm that the family fell in that they didn't believe was easily breakable until it actually broke.
Jen's started spiraling -- in school she was acting out, biting other children or swearing at the teacher when she was being spoken too. At home she was becoming more and more withdrawn which was odd for the typically bright and happy child. While her siblings tried to make things better for her, Molly and Deacon only grew more and more paranoid about their child's behavior. Jen began lashing out on her siblings but it didn't quite hit hard at home until Molly found Jen attempting to strangle Emily in her sleep. Being parents...they knew they had to get help. Being hunters...they knew that something else was at play. They brought Jen to an old family friend who just told them that 'the child was mentally ill' and said she needed therapy.
The therapy helped for a brief time, Jen's outbursts lessened and everything seemed to be fine. Molly and Deacon decided that they were in the clear enough to go out, leaving Emily and Jen to be watched over by Noah. That night would haunt Emily and Noah to the end of their days -- Jen seemed inhuman as the night went on. Not just terrorizing her older siblings but torturing them to an extent, Noah had the good head on his shoulders and managed to hide Emily before trying to calm Jen down. Jen was not Jen, however. In the brief time Noah was alone with "his sister" he learned everything from his parents past to what was supposedly their future -- they would die in the darkness just as they were born to it. Jen was possessed by a lesser demon, one that didn't give its name and one that Noah had ran through with a knife from the kitchen when it tried to lunge at him. By the time Molly and Deacon returned home, their family home was burning to the ground and Noah had just pulled Emily out of the fire while Jennifer screamed inside. Noah being badly burned in the process.
Knowing they couldn't escape the life, Molly and Deacon returned to hunting -- teaching Noah and Emily the same. Noah's life went from wonderfully normal to traveling around place-to-place and learning how to kill creatures. Even while he was recovering from the burns Jennifer had inflicted upon him. While Noah had a more withdrawn outlook on what was to become of him and his sister, Emily was far more forthcoming with being a hunter -- gung ho about it even. As they grew older, her enthusiasm was stifling for Noah most of the time. Even when their parents seemed to push them remaining as hunting partners. Noah was always a little more sensitive than his sister who saw the world as black-and-white. Noah always saw the gray.
Noah eventually went solo, throwing caution to the wind by ditching Emily at a truck stop with their RV and what they won while conning some people at a game of pool. Noah went off on the road after that, putting as much distance between Emily and him that he crossed an ocean to get away from her. Ending up in New York and as far away from anyone knowing the name of Sorenson.
He worked hard to distance himself from hunting, eventually putting on a different 'persona' all together.
The 'new' Noah Sorenson did not have any marketable trades that would do any good. Since his parents never pushed education, he never pursued it. What he ended up with was knowing how to kill a werewolf in the least bloodiest way possible and how to take without people realizing he was, indeed, taking from them. Noah honed his skills of lurking in the shadows for another purpose then hunting, by stealing. He had always been quick with his hands and fast to spit out a believable lie here and there. When no good takes would come up, Noah went to bars were he could trick people out of their money through pool or cards. Life wasn't amazing but it was good and he was comfortable where he was -- away from the supernatural and avoiding all knowledge of it.
He inevitably crossed paths with 'Cressida Haley'. Noah's commitment to Cressida was never questionable, even with the crowds the two seemed to run with. In his mind, she was the classiest of women and someone he had never quite imagined himself ending up with. It wasn't until he found himself protecting Cressida from the likes of a hunter and a witch on two separate occasions that he knew that there was more to her. But for the sake of turning the other cheek, Noah never pried. Never searched deeply into it but still remained with her, being vigilant in keeping her off the radar as much as he was.
For the most part, Noah remained true to the fact that he didn't want to hunt again. He was happy with the life he had and the things he was doing. But when his sister arrived to town, asking for his assistance in a hunt -- Noah couldn't turn his back on family. Going off on his own seemed like an idiotic way to spend his time, especially with the fact that he had a happy life away from hunting but Noah was one thing above all else: loyal. His loyalty put him in the crosshairs of Lucius de Monte and effectively...got him killed.
Noah disappeared from his past life, dropping off the map completely and spent years with Lucius. Despite being the last of his progeny, he was -- arguably -- the most loyal regardless of the fact that he'd tried to kill Lucius. Even though it was easier to reflect his new life with the sadism he learned, Noah fought that part of him for a while until he finally broke -- and subsequently released following that. Released onto the world wasn't a relief but a death sentence in his mind -- he couldn't search for help in the form of Cressida but he did search out his sister Emily who had all but decided that it was far too dangerous for her brother to be around people. Viewing him as she viewed all monsters, she tried to kill him -- but Noah killed her first. In a surprising twist of events, in front of his young niece.
Noah abandoned all thoughts of how he lived before entirely except for one: how to con and steal. Eventually finding some footing by employing others to steal for him, Noah has a blossoming crime ring began, operated in which-ever place he feels like it.
the shadow it is growing old
• Typical vampiric abilities: enhanced senses, strength, and speed. Making him somewhat formidable but nothing against older vampires. With this his heightened senses also include the ability to see in the dark along with other things to make him an excellent predator.
• Like other vampires, he has a lack of a heartbeat, body heat, brainwaves, electrical impulses, need to breathe, and other bodily functions.
• Immortal, he stopped aging the day he was turned into a vampire. This does mean he can't be killed, however. He still cannot be exposed to UV if not for any longer than potentially thirty minutes or less. Stake through the heart, silver, and beheading is also something he actively avoids.
• Can glamour humans.
• Needs human blood to survive. Given his lack of self-control, however, Noah really doesn't do well when in the presence of blood.
